The boundary issues have come to a head: the village of Manhattan has formally issued a notice of default to the village of Elwood regarding violations of the boundary agreement. Elwood has until February 27th to respond. This is a necessary step that gives the village of Elwood the opportunity to remedy the situation without having to go to court. Obviously, it is our hope that the village of Elwood will opt to work with its neighbor to turn down NorthPoint Development, as a lawsuit will be lengthy, stressful, and costly for both villages.
