On behalf of the 75,000 plus members of The American Legion Department of Illinois, we wish to express our concerns about the proposed Compass Business Park expansion. Please see the enclosed resolution addressing the proposed expansion.
We support creating jobs in Illinois. The question our members would ask is would this same development be done next to Arlington National Cemetery. We feel the answer would be no, honoring our veterans interned at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery and their families is just as important.
The American Legion Department of Illinois hopes all options are explored to insure the dignity, honor and respect our veterans and their families deserve can be reached.
